I think we are playing for about thirty minutes this Saturday for our Bowery Ballroom set. We have a bunch of new material, though it looks like we will hold off on debuting that stuff until January.

Also, we are excited for our new bassist Grady to play his first Manhattan show with us.

We had an interesting trip to Denver. While driving from North Platte, NE to Denver, our van died. This occured at Exit 48 of I-76, about 48 miles from Denver. We got a tow truck. We also got a cab. Taking a cab to a gig made it feel like home. Except that from the cab we could see mountains and not Lower Manhattan.

But the good news is that we are safe and sound and we made it to the show. We are renting a van for the rest of the tour. The show was fun. Here is Tyler rocking out during the Clap set.

Nuh Uh Album Almost Here

Our new album, Nuh Uh, will be here soon. It is currently in Indiana being manufactured. This is very exciting. It is almost here! Other great 'almosts' are the movie Almost Famous and the album, and particularly the song (though it was not on this album), Almost Blue. This post is almost done.

Nuh Uh at Fat Baby

Fat Baby is a cool place to play. The sound onstage is as excellent as it is out in the crowd. The stage is clean and new. And the room is narrow and deep, creating a good rock n' roll ambience.

Last Wednesday, March 18, Nuh Uh played our second show ever (both of which have been at Fat Baby). Once again, we played the album: Sorry, I'm Stuck, This Is Embarassing and Getting Used To Living Large. Fat Baby has filled in the vacuum left by the dearly departed Luna Lounge - a low-key place for up and coming bands to play, as well as for more established local acts to play semi-"event" shows. Fat Baby is no Luna Lounge, but times change, and at least the bathrooms are nice.

Takka Takka At the Brooklyn Lyceum

A heck of a show due to our friends, the wonderful Hartley Goldstein as well as Andrew Thompson. Hartley and I discussed the anti-folk scene while Andrew treated his still-recovering throat with tea from a thermos.

Takka Takka debuted three new songs: Enough, War On TV and Betsy Works In Banking.

Did you know they sell two-dollar sliders at the Lyceum? They are by Schnack. Apparently quite good. If it weren't for the volume restrictions, the Brooklyn Lyceum would be a perfect venue. But it seemed pretty loud to me anyway, so perhaps it's fine.

For me at least! I was sick as a dog last week so i did not play all week. no takka practice, no Nuh Uh (nuh uh, etc) and no Wood. But this week i feel better. I have narrowed my stomach ailment down to either a communicable virus i crossed paths with or some sort of mild food poisoning, possibly ingested at either a Super Bowl party or a sushi place.

So anyway, i'm back.
